Editable Task Grid: Rapidly Update Tasks in a Job

Increase your productivity with MarketingPilot’s new editable Task grid. With a single click, the default Task layout within a Job toggles to a grid that enables you to update multiple tasks at one time. This feature is handy when shifting Task dates for an existing project as well as initially setting up a Job’s Task time line.

Accessing the Editable Task Grid

The Editable Task Grid is available within a Job.

From the desired Job, with the Tasks tab displayed, click the “Edit Mode” icon (it looks like a pencil).

The default Tasks screen toggles to the Editable Grid. By default, a minimum of seven rows are displayed. Each row is one Task. To add additional rows in “Edit Mode,” click the “New” icon.

Update as desired, and click “Save.”

The following fields can be updated in Edit Mode:

  • Task Priority
  • Task Status
  • Assigned To
  • Task Name
  • Start Date and Time
  • Due Date and Time
  • Next Task (used to link Tasks)
  • Estimated Hours (used with Time slips)

Updating other Task fields

If you need to update additional fields within a Task, simply click the clipboard icon to the left of the Task.

Task status: Cancelled or Completed

Due to the processing that takes place when a task changes to either Cancelled or Completed, these statuses are not an options in the Editable Grid view. To change a Task’s status to “Cancelled” or “Completed:”

  1. Click the Task’s clipboard icon (the Task opens).
  2. Change the status.
  3. Click “Submit” to return to the Task grid.

Note: Alternatively, to mark a Task “Complete,” check the box to the left of the Task and click the Check mark icon in the icon row.)

Returning to “Default Mode”:

To return to the Default Mode, click the clipboard icon in the Icon row. The icon toggles to the Pencil icon.

Good to Know:

  • The Editable Task Grid is available in MarketingPilot Release 9.5 and higher.
